About Kimie Chikuba
Since childhood, I've been captivated by design, inspired by the vibrant homes of friends. This passion led me to study architecture at Tokyo University and work for a retail design firm upon graduation. In 2004, I honed my skills at an Amsterdam interior design studio before establishing my own in Shibuya in 2005. Starting with restaurant design, I expanded into residential interiors and collaborated with major developers by 2008. As my career progressed, I delved deeper into understanding the psychology of people in their spaces, culminating in the launch of online design consulting programs in 2019. This pivotal moment coincided with the global pandemic, offering profound insights into the impact of living environments on human behavior.
